You Moved, You Mobilised, You made a Difference!

In March 2021 we asked you – our valuable supporters – to fundraise $1 for every mile you moved. Throughout March 2021, people from across the globe took part in an epic collective journey, where each step really made a difference.

Thanks to you, we did it!

Our target was to raise $17,623 by our supporters collectively racing 17,623 miles around the world. This distance represents the journeys between the Global Girl Project’s partner countries, starting in Haiti and moving all around the world to finish in Cambodia.

We set our original fundraising target to fund just our May cohort for the Blended Learning Leadership Initiative (BLLI) when we started the campaign. Little did we know the surprise we were in for!

How much did we raise?

After just a few days of the Global Girls Run the World campaign we knew we would beat our target, so we raised it. A few days later, we had to extend it once again. We beat that – so we then raised our target to DOUBLE the original target we’d set at the start of March – and we even smashed that raising over $40,000!

The difference this makes is huge!

We were hoping to fund just our May cohort for the Blended Learning Leadership Initiative (BLLI) when we started the campaign. Little did we know the surprise we were in for! Thanks to your generosity, energy, drive and passion, we doubled our target and can now fund our September cohort for BLLI.

That means another group of 60-70 girls will get to be a part of our program because of you. Each group of 10 girls is going to bring about change in their local communities.

The ripple effect of their work means these funds are going to impact the lives of 100-200 people now in six different countries. And you are helping them create that global impact!

The funds raised by the Global Girls Run the World campaign will make a difference for our global girls in 2021.

All the funds raised in March 2021 will enable us to continue to mobilize girls around the world towards community change through our Blended Learning Leadership programme.
