Role Overview

The Programme Manager will join a small team working remotely, which is passionate about doing development work in a feminist and anti-colonial way. As part of a small and growing international charity, your role will be integral in driving our programming forward in the coming year, in order to increase our impact. 

 We are in a period of growth, and are currently expanding our programmes globally. We need an experienced programme manager, impact measurement practitioner and team leader who can take our programming, fundraising, and impact measurement to the next level. Your focus will be on overseeing our flagship leadership programme, the Global Girl Leadership Initiative, and supporting our global partners and regional programme coordinators to deliver high quality programming and grow our reach. You will also focus on developing our Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning system to improve our impact measurement and management processes, enabling us to better communicate the impact of our programmes.  In addition, you will focus on developing our Global Graduates Connect programme, our unique network of girls all over the world who have been through our leadership programming and are looking for more opportunity and support. Global Graduates Connect has the potential to be an incredibly powerful space, and we need someone who can drive ideas into action and develop new models and opportunities for funding something unique within the sector. You will focus on supporting Regional Programme Coordinators to deliver GGC programming, developing and implementing new ideas and projects across our network together with our local partners, and will lead on fundraising collaboratively alongside them. You will be able to innovate and to drive forward ideas in challenging environments, and will be able to think creatively about new funding and partnership models and opportunities.

 Practicalities

This position is a full-time (4 days a week) 12-month contract position with the intention to extend this depending on funding and fit. The candidate will be considered self-employed. This role will be full-time, which for Global Girl Project is a 32 hour/4 day work week. You also need to be available during our organisation’s ‘golden hours’ of 10am - 3pm UK time (GMT/BST). The right candidate will need to be able to work flexibly to support global partners, which may include early mornings, evenings or weekends. We anticipate hiring for this candidate within the timezones GMT - GMT+5.5.

 As we are a global organisation, the person who is successful with this application will be from and live in one of the regions where we work. Please note we are not accepting applications from those based in the Global North for this role.

Pay rate: Pay will be calculated depending on the location of the successful candidate and adjusted for cost of living. 

 Key Responsibilities

Programmes & Impact (45% of time)

  • Lead on developing a new curriculum which builds on the work of our Global Girl Leadership Initiative and which supports girls to better make change in their communities and be active in the network.  

  • Work in partnership with the CEO and Founder to develop the strategy for expansion and development of the Global Girl Leadership Initiative. 

  • Lead on the strengthening of our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning system, with a particular focus on developing our longitudinal data collection, and measuring the impact of networks.

  • Oversee the effective running of our programming across the ten global locations it currently operates (with rapid growth expected), through the support and supervision of our Regional Programme Coordinators.

  • Lead on the development of a thriving network and ecosystem of girls across the world who are making change in their communities. 

Fundraising (35% of time)

  • Develop strong and equitable relationships with our implementation partners across the world, with a particular focus on collaborative fundraising and development of new opportunities, acting as a partner to the CEO and Founder. 

  • Build an ecosystem of partners, providing opportunities for connection, learning and to open up new funding opportunities..

Administration (20% of time)

  • Oversee the content creation and management of our online learning platform.

  • Supervise and Support our Regional Programme Coordinators

  • Ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to across our programming.

 Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications

 Essential

 Programmes and Impact

  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in programme management and impact measurement.

  • At least 3 years experience managing programme teams and international programmes.

  • Experience directly delivering programming in at least three of the following regions: Latin America, Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, East Asia. 

  • Experience developing and improving and implementing curriculums designed for young people from marginalised backgrounds, particularly girls. 

  • Experience developing and managing impact measurement systems, including familiarity with Theories of Change, MEL Frameworks, and data gathering tools. 

  • Strong data analysis skills 

  • Experience working in environments with low technology penetration and a low level of understanding and exposure to online tools. 

 Fundraising

  • Experience developing creative ways to fund programmes, including funding partnerships or consortiums and writing successful fundraising proposals

  • Experience developing delivery or learning partnerships 

 Administration

  • Experience working in a cross-cultural, international context with an ability to build strong relationships with teams and people from a wide range of backgrounds, countries, and cultures.

  • Very strong technical skills, including a high level of comfort with Google Sheets and EdTech platforms 

  • Strong English speaking and writing skills, including good ability to write reports and funding applications.

  • Knowledge of the charitable sector, especially within small charities 

  • Understanding of development, racial and gender equality models 

  • An understanding of feminist organisational development and feminist approaches to communications and development

Desired

  • Familiarity with SquareSpace 

  • Undergraduate degree

Role Overview

The Regional Coordinator - Middle East and Asia will join a small team working remotely, which is passionate about doing development work in a feminist and anti-colonial way. As part of a small and growing international charity your role will be integral in driving the growth that Global Girl Project needs to achieve in the coming year, in order to increase our impact. 

Your focus will be on working with and supporting our partner organisations and girls in the Middle East and Asia. You will be supporting partners to deliver our Global Girl Leadership Initiative in the Middle East and Asia, onboarding and training partners, providing ongoing support throughout the programme implementation, and ensuring all monitoring is completed effectively. 

In addition, we are in a period of growth and are working to further increase our offerings to girls and partners as part of our Global Graduates Connect network. Global Graduates Connect is our network of girls who have completed the Global Girl Leadership Initiative and which provides ongoing activities, support, and opportunities for connection. This role will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing Global Graduates Connect activities, both through working with partners and delivering activities directly to girls.

This position is a part-time, 6-month contract position and the candidate will be considered self-employed. We anticipate this role to work a 24 hour / 3 day work week, with potential to extend and increase this, funding dependent. The right candidate will be able to work flexibly to support partners and girls, which may include early mornings, evenings or weekends. You also need to be available during our organisation’s ‘golden hours’ of 10am - 3pm UK time (GMT/BST). We anticipate hiring for this candidate within the timezones GMT - GMT+5.5.

  • In cooperation with partners, coordinate and deliver Global Graduates Connect opportunities for girls in the Middle East and Asia.

  • Actively seek to improve and develop programming, bringing new ideas for activities and projects under the Global Graduates Connect programme

  • Share insights and ideas with the Programme Team and play an active role in developing and improving programmes. 

  • Work with local teams to source and apply for funding opportunities

 Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications

 Essential

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years work experience in project management in the NGO/charity sectors

  • Experience managing projects with partners across multiple partners and countries 

  • Experience delivering projects remotely and using online educational platforms. (We use Canvas to deliver our programmes, experience with this software is not required but an ability to use online delivery methods and high levels of digital competence are required 

  • Experience developing strong, equitable partnerships underpinned by feminist principles 

  • Experience working with and directly delivering activities and learning programmes to girls aged 13-18. 

  • Experience designing activities, projects and programmes suitable for girls aged 13 - 18.

  • Experience delivering leadership programming and an understanding of feminist leadership principles.

  • Experience contributing to funding proposals and sourcing new funding opportunities

  • Understanding of development, racial and gender equality models 

  • Experience working within a cross-cultural, international context 

  • Strong computer literacy 

  • Strong spoken and written English skills 

 Desired

  • Knowledge of the charitable sector, especially within small charities
